i noticed mine have gotten darker and bigger since i got pregnant, second trimester now. just curious if this keeps changing more. is it same for everyone?
They definitely expand quite a bit to help the baby latch post-delivery. After my C-section, breastfeeding was a bit painful initially, but the darker, larger areolas really helped my baby find her way. They do settle down in size after you stop nursing.
I am in my 20th week now and honestly mine have grown so much and turned almost black. I was actually getting a bit anxious wondering if this is normal or if it happens to everyone? Are yours also feeling a bit itchy and dry too?
Trust me, they can get surprisingly big, sometimes almost double the size! I remember looking in the mirror and getting so shocked. But now that my kid is a toddler, everything has mostly gone back to how it was before, so don't stress.
Oh, don't feel shy about this at all, it's a very normal part of the journey. My mother told me it's nature's way of preparing the baby to find the feed easily. They do get significantly bigger and darker, but they slowly go back to normal later.
Since I have PCOS, my body already had hormonal imbalances, so I noticed a huge change in size and color early on. They can get quite large and dark, but it varies a lot from person to person. Just keep the skin hydrated with coconut oil and try not to worry too much about it.
Beta, body changes are natural as you prepare to feed the baby. Apply a little warm mustard oil or fresh malai gently after bathing to keep the skin soft and avoid itching. Don't worry about the size, it is all God's design.
