Im newly pregnant and the whole week calculation thing is going over my head honestly. My last period and the actual weeks dont match in my mind. How do u all keep track of how many weeks you are?
Same question I had at the start! Turns out you count from your last period, not conception, which felt odd because it adds 2 weeks before you even conceived. The app and my scan both matched anyway.
Last period first day is week zero. Each week from there adds up. Full term is around 40 weeks counted this way. The early ultrasound corrects it if your dates are unsure. Simple once you know it's from LMP.
Count from the first day of your last menstrual period, not from when you think you conceived. So if your last period started 8 weeks ago, you're 8 weeks pregnant. My doctor confirmed exact weeks with the dating scan since cycles vary.
Just enter your last period date in any pregnancy tracker app, it counts weeks and even days for you automatically. I loved checking it daily. It's based on LMP, same way doctors count.
