The medical world counts pregnancy in weeks, starting from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). Four weeks roughly make a month, but since a full term is 40 weeks, it is actually about 9 calendar months and 7 days.
Aap bas apni aakhri period ki date yaad rakho. Us date se har mahine aapka naya mahina shuru hota hai. Jaise agar LMP 10th ko thi, toh har mahine ki 10th ko ek mahina poora hoga.
In our house, my MIL counts by calendar dates while my doctor strictly counts by weeks. I just follow the doctor's weekly chart for scans but agree with mummy's calendar count to keep the peace!
Doctors always go by weeks instead of months! 🗓️ So 40 weeks is the magic number. Try using a weekly tracker, it makes it so much fun to see baby's size! 👶
I know how confusing it is when your family says one month and your doctor says another, it made me so anxious! Just remember doctors count from the start of your last period, so you are actually further along than you think.
