Been reading a lot and got curious about this. Im 7 weeks now. Just want to understand what happens inside as pregnancy goes on. Anyone knows in simple words?
Wow, this is so interesting! I'm planning my pregnancy now and learning so much. I didn't even realize the cervix changed so much. Is it something you can feel yourself, or does the doctor just check?
Cervix changes... all I can think about is how much I changed during pregnancy, like my craving for pickles and ice cream together! But seriously, your body does some amazing things. Mine just kept me wanting more biryani, haha.
Oh, I just went through this! Before delivery, it starts softening and effacing, that's what my doc explained. And during labor, it dilates, like a lot, up to 10 cm! It's wild to think about what our bodies do.
Please make sure your doctor is regularly monitoring your cervical length, especially if you've had any history of issues or pre-term labor. Mine shortened unexpectedly, which led to a lot of worry. It's always best to discuss any concerns with your gynac promptly.
I only know what my doctor told me about my own cervix and its changes during my pregnancies. They said it basically seals up tight to protect the baby, and then slowly starts getting ready for delivery as the time gets closer. I wouldn't really know how to explain the full medical details.
Hey girl, don't stress too much about all the technicalities! Basically, it gets softer and thicker to keep the baby safe inside, and then for delivery, it opens up. Your gynac will be checking all this, so chill.
