I did a home strip and it showed faint positive but im going to the gynac next week. just curious what they actually do there, is it blood test or another urine one or scan? first time so i have no idea what to expect.
Usually they start with the same urine test you do at home, then confirm with a blood test for the hCG level. The scan later confirms everything is in the right place. Nothing scary, all simple and quick.
My gynac did a urine test first, then a blood beta hCG test which is more accurate and gives a number. Later an ultrasound confirms the pregnancy and the location. The blood test can detect it a bit earlier than the urine strip.
Just a heads up, the urine test is cheap but the blood beta hCG and scan add up, so budget for it. Honestly the home strip plus one doctor confirmation visit is usually enough at first. Plan the scans as the doctor schedules them.
