How do i calculate the weeks of my pregnancy?

Just got my positive test and im so confused about counting. My last period date i remember but do we count from that day or from when conception happened? Someone pls explain in simple words.

My doctor explained it like this, pregnancy is counted in 40 weeks from the last menstrual period (LMP). The dating scan around 8-12 weeks confirms it more accurately and they may adjust your weeks a little based on baby size.

Honestly just put your last period date in any pregnancy tracker app, it does the whole thing for you and shows weeks plus due date. Saved me from confusing maths.

My mother used to count by months but doctors go by weeks from last period na. Best is let the gynac confirm at scan, they will tell exact week.

Count from the first day of your last period, not from when you conceived. So if your period was 6 weeks ago, you are 6 weeks pregnant. Thats how all docs calculate it.

I was so confused by this also! My gynac said its from last period date. Did anyone elses calculation come out different at the first scan? Mine was 4 days off.
