Weeks I understand a little, but months are so confusing. Someone says 20 weeks is 5 months, someone says not exactly. How do you explain pregnancy month to family?
This confused me so much at first honestly. Everyone counts weeks but family asks in months. My doc said go by weeks for accuracy. Did anyone else find the months counting puzzling too?
They count from your last period date, not from when you conceived. Thats why you are already called few weeks pregnant before you even know. Roughly 4 weeks is a month, doc will tell you exact based on scan.
At home elders always count in months but the doctor counts in weeks from your last period. I just followed the weeks my doctor gave, it kept things clear for the checkups.
My gynac said its calculated from the last menstrual period, total around 40 weeks, divided into 3 trimesters. The dating scan also confirms the exact weeks. So weeks are more accurate than months.
Doctors count in weeks not months, from the first day of your last period. So 40 weeks total which is about 9 months. My app showed both week and month, that made it less confusing for me.
