How do you know if you have preeclampsia during pregnancy?
Im 30 weeks and my feet have been swelling a lot, MIL keeps saying check ur BP. I have a little tension because i keep hearing about this. Planning to ask my gynac but wanted to know what signs u all noticed.
High blood pressure is a big red flag for preeclampsia, so track it regularly if you can. Also look out for severe headaches that don't go away, sudden swelling in hands/face, vision changes, or pain in your upper belly. My app had a good section on this. If you notice these, call your doc immediately!
It's so important to be aware of conditions like preeclampsia, it can be really scary to think about. Always, always tell your doctor about any sudden changes you feel. Things like really bad headaches, sudden puffiness, or changes in your vision are not normal and need urgent attention. Your peace of mind is important.
My doctor was very particular about this. They check your BP and urine protein at every visit. If you suddenly get very bad headaches, blurry vision, or your hands and face puff up like anything, tell your doc. I was lucky I didn't get it, but it's important to report anything unusual.
Preeclampsia is serious, don't ignore any symptoms. If you experience very high blood pressure, protein in your urine (which doc checks), severe headaches, blurry vision, or sudden swelling, please contact your gynac immediately. My friend had a bad experience, so always be vigilant and trust your doctor.
Ugh, another thing to worry about in 3rd trimester! My doc just calls it the 'high BP demon.' But seriously, they check my blood pressure every time, and also test my urine for protein. If you get a headache that feels like your head is about to explode, or your vision goes funky, don't wait, call them. My feet are already swollen so I don't know what 'sudden' swelling even means anymore haha.
I'm in my second trimester too and I've heard about this. It makes me a bit anxious sometimes. My doctor checks my BP every visit. But what if it's something subtle? Did any of you experience something that seemed minor but turned out to be a sign? Like just a little headache, not severe?
Oh, this is something my gynac also keeps an eye on during checkups. They specifically check BP and urine for protein. Are there any other less obvious signs that we should look out for? Like, does mild swelling count? I'm in my second trimester.
