Im on the heavier side and just got my positive result. Bit worried about how this might affect the pregnancy and baby. My first checkup is next week but until then my mind is running. Anyone here gone through pregnancy being overweight?
My doctor told me being overweight can slightly raise the chance of gestational diabetes and BP, so she kept a closer watch. She didnt make me diet, just eat balanced and stay lightly active. With good monitoring many overweight moms have healthy pregnancies.
It can mean a few extra checks and some risk to watch, but it is very manageable with the right care. Dont let internet scare you, your gynac will guide a healthy plan for you. Focus on balanced food and regular checkups.
I went into pregnancy on the heavier side because of PCOS and my gynac just monitored me a bit more closely, extra sugar and BP checks. It doesnt mean things will go wrong, it just means more careful follow up. Please go by your own doctors guidance, every body is different.
I totally understand the worry, I had the same fear. But with my doctor watching things and me eating sensibly, my baby came healthy. You will be okay, just stay in touch with your gynac.
