Been trying for over a year and my gynac mentioned getting an HSG done. Honestly im a bit nervous about it and dont fully understand how it actually helps in conceiving. Anyone here who did it and got pregnant after? would love to hear.
I had HSG during my journey. It checks if the fallopian tubes are open and the uterus shape is normal, blocked tubes can stop conception. For some women the test itself flushes tubes a bit and helps. Sending you strength.
HSG is mainly diagnostic, to find tube blockage or uterus issues. It can mildly help some people conceive after. But it can be a bit uncomfortable, so go through your doctor and follow her advice on timing.
My doc explained HSG is an x-ray with dye to see if tubes are clear and the uterus looks fine. If something is blocking, that can be the reason for trouble conceiving. It also sometimes opens minor blockages.
We were just told about this test recently too. As I understood it shows if everything inside is open and clear for the egg and sperm to meet. I was nervous to ask so glad someone did here.
