Honestly i never understood this properly and now me and hubby are trying for a baby. I keep reading about fertile days but it confuses me. Can someone explain in simple words how the timing actually works?
Simple way to think of it, every cycle one egg comes out and there is a small window where you can conceive. Both my pregnancies happened when we tracked the fertile days. If your cycle is irregular, a gynac can guide you better.
Honestly tracking apps explain this so well. Egg releases, you have a fertile window of about 5-6 days, and timing matters. I got the dates from an ovulation kit and the app together. Made it less confusing for me.
I was confused about this too when we started trying. From what I learnt, you ovulate around day 14 in a 28 day cycle but it varies. I used an app to track and it made things clearer. Worth talking to a doc if cycles are irregular.
Basically ovulation is when your ovary releases an egg, usually around the middle of your cycle. If sperm meets that egg during that window, it can fertilize and pregnancy starts. My doctor said the fertile days are roughly a few days before and on ovulation day. Tracking helped me a lot.
We are trying since few months and I am still learning all this. Someone told me the ovulation kit is helpful to know the right days. Following along with this thread.
