This is my first pregnancy and everyone keeps talking in weeks but i honestly dont fully get how the counting works. Like which week is which trimester and what happens around each stage. Can someone explain it simply pls.
I was so confused by this too! Like why does it start before conception. Someone explained it's just how doctors calculate the due date. Following it week by week made the whole thing feel less scary for me.
Honestly just download a week by week pregnancy app, it tells u everything, baby size, what's developing, what to expect. I checked mine every monday morning haha. Pairs nicely with what your gynac tells u at scans.
Simple way to think: first 3 months is forming stage, middle 3 is the comfortable bump and movement phase, last 3 is growing and getting ready. Doc counts in weeks from last period. Each scan they'll tell u exactly which week you're at.
Dont overthink the exact numbers beta. Roughly nine months, three stages, and your gynac will guide you at each visit. Just go for your checkups on time and you'll naturally understand it as you go.
My doctor explained it's counted from your last period, so week 1 starts even before conception technically. It's 40 weeks split in 3 trimesters, roughly 1-13, 14-27, 28 till birth. The app I used showed baby size each week which made it easy to follow.
