How early can pregnancy be detected after intercourse?

We are trying for our first and the waiting is killing me lol. I keep wanting to test but i know its probably too soon. How many days after do you actually get a proper result?

Beta dont test the next day, it wont show. Wait for ur missed period and use first morning urine. Testing early only gives u false tension.

My doc explained it takes time for hcg to build up, so testing right after intercourse wont show anything. She said wait till the day of missed period for urine test, around 2 weeks after ovulation. Blood test can catch it slightly earlier.

I used an app to track my cycle so i knew roughly when to test. It reminded me to wait till missed period day. Saved me from buying like 5 test kits in panic honestly.

I tested way too early and it was negative, then i panicked so much. Did anyone else do that? Turned out i just tested too soon and it was positive a week later.
