we are trying this month and im so impatient, i keep wanting to test already lol. but i dont want to do it too soon and get a wrong result. how many days before or after the period date can u actually check? pls share.
Best to wait till your period is missed, usually a day or two after gives a clearer result. Use first morning urine, its more accurate. Testing too early often shows false negative and just stresses you out.
My doc said the urine test is reliable from the first day of a missed period. If you really cant wait, a beta hcg blood test can detect a few days earlier. But morning urine after missed period is the simplest accurate way.
I tested 3 days early last cycle and it was negative, then positive after my missed date. So annoying. Now I know to just wait it out, the early testing only made me anxious.
I tracked my cycle on an app and tested the day my period was due. Some tests claim 5 days before but honestly they can be faint or wrong. Wait for the missed period for a real answer, much less heartbreak.
