My first scan is next week and honestly im a little nervous because i dont know what they actually do. Do they just move something on the tummy or is it something else? Anyone who has done it pls share how it went for u.
Nothing to worry about. They apply gel on your tummy and move a device over it, you see baby on the screen. Sometimes in very early weeks they do the internal one. Keep your bladder a bit full if they tell you to, it gives better picture.
Early on around 6-8 weeks they usually do an internal one (transvaginal), my doc said its clearer for tiny stage. After that its the normal one on belly with the gel and the probe. Totally painless, just the gel feels cold haha.
Dont stress about it at all. Its quick and doesnt hurt, you just lie down and they show you the baby. Most beautiful moment honestly, you will love seeing that little heartbeat.
Its very simple ma. They put gel and check baby on screen. My amma was also there with me for support. Just listen to what the doctor tells before scan, sometimes they ask to drink water and hold it.
I have my first scan next week and was nervous about this same thing. So its just gel on belly mostly? That actually makes me feel better, thanks for asking yaar.
