How long after unprotected to get tested for pregnancy?

It's been just a few days and im already restless to test, but i dont want to do it too early and get a wrong result. when is the right time so the test is actually accurate? pls share.

I tested too early once and got a negative, then positive later, so frustrating! The hormone takes time to build up. Wait at least till the day your period is due, morning sample gives the clearest result.

Around the day your period would be due is reliable for a home kit. If it shows negative but period still doesnt come, repeat after a few days or get a blood test, which your doctor can arrange and is more accurate.

Best to wait till your period is missed, thats usually around 2 weeks after. Testing too early gives false negative because the hormone is still low. If period is late even by a few days, then test with first morning urine.
