The burning feeling started around my 5th month and its honestly so annoying. Does it stay till the end ya does it get better later? someone pls tell me there is some relief coming.
With two babies pushing my stomach up to my throat, my reflux lasted till the very last day in the OT! The day after delivery, I ate spicy food without any burning. It does end, I promise!
My doctor explained that progesterone relaxes the valve between stomach and esophagus, which stays relaxed throughout pregnancy. Plus, the growing baby pushes up on the stomach in the 3rd trimester. So unfortunately, it usually lasts till delivery, but subsides immediately after birth.
For me, it lasted almost until delivery because of my hormonal imbalances. But keeping my diet very clean and low-carb helped reduce the frequency. It's different for everyone, so stay patient.
Personally, my acidity got really bad in the 5th month and stayed till week 38. I didn't take any medicine, just managed with small walks after meals and sleeping elevated. It went away completely right after delivery.
Don't worry, my dear, it is highly uncomfortable but it is not permanent. For most moms, it peaks in the third trimester and vanishes the moment the baby is born. Keep having small, frequent meals to make it easier.
I'm in my 7th month and dealing with this daily. Did it get better for anyone in the 3rd trimester, or does it stay till the end? Currently relying on cold milk.
