How long does cervical mucus last in early pregnancy?
im around 5 weeks and noticing thoda more discharge than usual, no smell or anything just more. is this a early pregnancy thing and how many days does it normally stay? bit confused if its normal.
My doctor explained that cervical mucus changes significantly in early pregnancy. It typically becomes thicker and forms a 'mucus plug' which can last throughout the entire pregnancy. This plug acts as a protective barrier. You might notice some discharge, but the consistency is different from ovulation mucus.
In early pregnancy, your cervical mucus can change and become more noticeable, often thicker. This is a natural body response. While it's generally harmless, if you notice any unusual colour, smell, or itching, please do check with your gynac, just to be sure.
When you're pregnant, your cervical mucus usually becomes a thick, protective plug that stays there for the whole pregnancy to protect the baby. If you're seeing any really unusual discharge, especially if it's coloured or smelly, always call your gynac right away. It's better to be safe.
For me, in early pregnancy, I definitely noticed a change in discharge. It felt a bit different than usual. It just seemed to be there consistently. But everyone is different, so what one person experiences might not be exactly what another does.
Oh, the changes in early pregnancy are so many, right? Cervical mucus definitely changes; it becomes more abundant and often thicker to protect your little one. It's a sign your body is doing its amazing work. It was one of the many things that made me realize, 'Wow, it's real!'
