How long does it take the average couple to conceive?
We started trying about 5 months back and still nothing, im starting to feel a little disheartened. Just wanted to know whats normal so i dont panic unnecessarily. How long did it take for you all?
On average most couples conceive within a year of trying regularly. It took us about 7 months the first time, so don't panic if it's not the first month. If it crosses a year, then go see a doctor for both of you.
I read most couples take around 6 months to a year. We are in month 4 and I keep stressing, but apparently that's still very normal. Tracking ovulation supposedly speeds things up a bit.
We are trying too and I felt the same worry. People told me it can take several months even for healthy couples, so I'm trying to be patient. Stress apparently doesn't help, so we're taking it easy.
For us it took longer and we found out there was a small issue, so I'd say if you've tried for a year (or six months if you're over 35), please get a checkup. Don't just wait endlessly worrying, a doctor can help.
Everyone's timeline is so different, please be kind to yourself. Many conceive within a year naturally. Ours took a different route, and that's okay too. Whatever your journey, you're not alone in it.
