We are trying since 2 months and im so impatient every cycle. My period is 3 days late now. How soon can a test actually show correct result? dont want to test too early and get false hope
A home kit reliably detects it around the missed period, so roughly 2 weeks after ovulation. A blood test can catch it a couple of days earlier. Testing before that often gives false negatives.
My app suggested testing on the day of the expected period or just after. Before that the hormone is usually too low. Once I waited for that, the result was clear in one go.
We keep testing too early every month out of hope. Reading this, it makes sense to wait for the missed date. Patience is the hard part for us right now.
