Usually a home test works around the time of a missed period, so roughly 2 weeks after conception. Testing too early gives false negatives. Wait for the missed period and use morning urine.
I tracked ovulation and tested the day after my period was due, got a clear result. Blood tests can pick it up a couple days earlier than urine. The app reminded me not to test too soon, which helped.
