How long does pregnancy induced hypertension last after delivery?
I developed high bp in my last trimester and just delivered 2 weeks back. Still my readings arent fully normal which is worrying me. did yours settle down on its own? roughly how long it took for you.
I had high BP in pregnancy and for me it took a few weeks after delivery to settle, but everyone is different. Some need monitoring or medication for a while postpartum. Please keep checking your BP and stay in close touch with your doctor, dont skip follow ups.
I dealt with thyroid not BP, but the common thread my doctor stressed was postpartum follow up appointments matter a lot. These conditions can linger or change after delivery. Keep your check ups regular and let the doctor decide when you are clear.
For many women it improves in the weeks after delivery, but please dont assume it just vanishes. Keep monitoring your blood pressure at home and go for your postpartum visits. Your doctor will tell you when its truly back to normal. Take it easy okay.
It usually eases within a few weeks postpartum but not always, and some women carry on with monitoring longer. Dont go by general timelines, get your BP checked properly after delivery and let your doctor guide the medication and follow ups.
My doctor told me pregnancy induced hypertension often comes down within about 6 weeks postpartum for many women, but it can vary. They kept monitoring my BP after delivery to be sure. Definitely get regular checks done and follow your gynacs plan on this.
