My period is late by about a week and i did a home test that looked positive. Now i dont know how soon i should go and get it properly confirmed. First time for me so im a little lost yaar.
The body takes about 10-14 days after conception to build enough hcg to show on a test. Thats why testing right after period is missed gives the cleanest result. Blood test can pick it up slightly earlier than the strip.
Home kit can show after your missed period, usually pretty reliable by then. But for a proper confirmation a blood test (beta hcg) is the surest. I always did the urine test first then went to doc to be sure.
I was so impatient the first time and tested way too soon. Learned the hard way that you really need to wait till the period date passes. After that the strip line was clear within a minute.
