How many blood tests are done during pregnancy?

Just got my first set of tests done and honestly the list was so long. Im in first trimester. Wondering kitne aur baar blood test hoga over the whole 9 months, anyone remember?

It's not a fixed number, depends on your doctor and your health. Initial panel in first trimester, then glucose test around 6th-7th month, and sometimes repeat tests later. Just follow what your gynac says, they know what checks are necessary for you.

Hi! Generally, in the first trimester, you have a set of initial tests – CBC, blood group, thyroid, sugar, HIV, Hep B, etc. Then usually in the second trimester, around 24-28 weeks, the GTT (glucose tolerance test) for gestational diabetes. And often again a CBC and maybe some others closer to delivery. Your doctor will guide you through the exact schedule as per your needs.
