How many days before ovulation to conceive a baby?
We started trying this month and im tracking my cycle on an app. Im a bit confused about the timing, should we be doing it before ovulation or only on the day itself? would love some clarity from those who conceived.
The few days before ovulation are actually the best, not the day after. Sperm can survive 3-4 days inside, so the 2-3 days before plus ovulation day is your window. We timed it like this both times.
I used an ovulation app and LH strips together, that combo helped me a lot. The app showed my fertile window as roughly 5 days before ovulation till the day itself. Strips turning positive meant we tried next 2 days, worked actually.
We are also trying right now and this confused me too. So glad someone asked. From what I read, the days just before ovulation matter most, but I still want to ask my gynac to be sure.
Just one thing, with PCOS like me ovulation timing can be all over the place, so counting days didn't always work. If your cycles are irregular, maybe get a scan or talk to gynac for proper tracking. Don't only rely on app dates.
Don't make it too stressful by counting every single day, that takes the joy out. Roughly the week around ovulation is fine. Relax, eat well, and let it happen, beta.
