How many dried apricots to eat per day during pregnancy?
Someone told me dried apricots are good in pregnancy for iron. I have started eating but dont want to overdo it na. How many per day is okay according to u all?
I was also thinking about adding more dried apricots to my diet for iron! My midwife said they're good, but I didn't ask about a specific number. Like, is 5-6 too many? I don't want to overdo it but also want the benefits, you know? What did your doc say?
Dried apricots are good for iron, but everything in pregnancy needs to be in moderation and approved by your doctor. It's really important to ask your gynac how many *you* specifically can eat per day, because every pregnancy is different and what's safe for one might not be for another. Better safe than sorry, always.
With twins, I was always told 'eat for two' but not literally, haha! Dried apricots are good, but they're quite sweet and can be heavy. I used to have maybe 3-5 a day, often mixed with other nuts. Don't overdo it, or you'll be running to the loo and then have to carry two babies there!
My doctor recommended dried apricots for iron and fibre, especially because I was prone to constipation. She said about 3-4 medium-sized pieces a day are generally fine, but to make sure they are unsulphured and from a reliable source. It's a good snack, but always check your sugar intake too.
Dried fruits are so good for keeping your digestion regular, which is super important during pregnancy and especially after delivery, trust me! For C-section recovery, it was a lifesaver. For apricots, maybe 3-4 a day is a good start. Listen to your body and adjust, but definitely ask your doctor too.
Remembering all those small nutritional worries during pregnancy... It's like you want to do everything perfectly for your baby. Dried apricots are a lovely, natural source of goodness. Just enjoy them in a balanced way, listen to your body, and if you're ever in doubt, a quick chat with your doctor will put your mind at ease.
Dried apricots? Oh god, I was just trying to remember to eat *anything* that wasn't covered in chocolate. I think I just grabbed whatever looked healthy. If it helps with iron and doesn't make you nauseous, go for it! Just don't go overboard, because too much fibre can also, ahem, cause issues.
