I had a follicular scan this cycle and the report numbers are confusing me. My doc will review it, but till then I am feeling anxious. For those who conceived with tracking, how many follicles did you have?
With PCOS I had many small follicles but the issue was none maturing properly. So its not about having lots, its about one growing and releasing well. Please go by what your doctor sees in your scan, every case is different.
We did a follicle study too and I learnt that just one mature one releasing the egg is enough. It calmed me down because I was overthinking the numbers. Ask your gynac to explain your scan, helps a lot.
My doctor explained that for natural pregnancy one dominant mature follicle of the right size is what you need each cycle. The follicle study scan tracks this. Number alone doesnt decide things.
Technically just one good mature follicle that releases a healthy egg is enough for natural conception. In treatments they sometimes aim for more, but quality matters more than number. Your fertility doctor is the right person to read your reports.
