I got one tetanus shot last visit and my gynac mentioned a few more are coming up. Im honestly a bit scared of injections so i want to mentally prepare. How many in total roughly during the whole pregnancy?
It really depends on your pregnancy. I needed a couple of extra ones because of my situation. Please dont go by a number you hear from others, your doctor will give you your own correct schedule.
Mainly the tetanus ones, i got two TT injections spaced apart in both pregnancies. Apart from that it depends, some get extra if doctor finds a need. Your gynac will tell you the schedule, dont worry.
Theres no fixed single number for everyone. The tetanus injections are routine, the rest depends on your individual case and reports. Let your gynac decide whats needed for you rather than going by a general number.
The tetanus shots i got free at the govt centre, so dont skip those thinking of money. Ask your doctor early what injections are planned so you can note dates and arrange visits without last minute rush.
Usually the tetanus shots are standard, given in the second half of pregnancy. Beyond that it varies, some women may need others based on blood group or specific conditions. Best to follow the chart your doctor gives you.
