First pregnancy so im totally new to all this. Already did one scan around 7 weeks and now wondering kitne aur scans honge till delivery. Just want to mentally prepare myself, anyone can tell?
I just finished my anomaly scan at 20 weeks and it was amazing to see the baby! Are you guys also getting growth scans every month, or is that only if there are complications?
Haan na, starting me lagta hai kitne scans honge. Usually doctor dating scan, NT scan, anomaly scan aur ek growth scan karte hain. Sab simple hota hai, tension mat lo.
I am currently planning and trying to understand this too. Is there always an early dating scan, or do doctors usually wait till the 12th week for the first big scan?
Look, normally you'll have 3 main ones: NT scan at 12 weeks, Anomaly scan around 20 weeks, and a growth scan later. Some doctors do a dating scan early on too. Just do what your gynac prescribes, no need to count and worry.
Because of my previous miscarriage, my doctor did scans almost every month to monitor everything closely. Standard is 3 to 4, but if you have a history, extra scans actually bring a lot of peace of mind.
I panicked when my doctor ordered an extra growth scan in the third trimester, thinking something was wrong. But it turned out completely normal! Usually 3-5 scans are standard, so don't stress if they ask for one.
Honestly, it feels like I've lived at the ultrasound clinic this year! Usually, there are about 3 to 4 main scans, but if your doctor wants to be extra sure, they might call you for more. Just go with the flow.
