In my case there were about three to four main scans, the dating one, the NT scan, the anomaly scan and a growth scan later. My doctor decided based on how things were going. Elders said too many scans, but I trusted my gynac's plan.
Usually around 3 to 5 scans in a normal pregnancy, more if there is any concern. Both times I had the dating, NT, anomaly and growth scans. Your doctor will tell you the exact schedule.
