My sister stays in UK and she keeps telling me she got only 2 scans there, while here my gynac is calling me almost every month for one. Just curious how the UK system works na, anyone here gone through pregnancy there?
I am in my second trimester now and literally counting days between scans because I get so anxious! In the UK they only do two, right? Does anyone else also feel super worried waiting so long to see if the baby is okay?
Wahan UK mein toh bas do baar hi scan karte hain behan, ek shuruat mein aur ek 5th month mein. Agar koi problem na ho toh utna kaafi hota hai. Tum acche se khao peeyo aur khush raho, sab theek hoga.
Oh, only two scans? What if we want to get an extra scan privately, is that allowed there? I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and I feel like I'd want to see my little one more often just for peace of mind.
Actually, in the UK they only do 2 routine scans, one at 12 weeks and another at 20 weeks. Mere cousin ke time pe bas do hi huye the yaar. It seems so less compared to India where we get scanned almost every month!
Only two official scans over there, can you believe it? Here in India, doctors see the baby more often than we see our relatives! But hey, less scans mean less times you have to hold a full bladder, so look at the bright side!
Standard NHS guidelines state two ultrasound scans—the dating scan and the anomaly scan. However, if there are any high-risk factors, they definitely schedule more. It's always best to follow your healthcare provider's custom plan for you.
In the UK, they usually do two main scans, but honestly, every pregnancy is different. Please check with your NHS midwife or gynac to see if you need extra scans for safety. Don't compare with others, your doctor knows best.
