We are trying since 4 months and my husband recently did a semen test. The numbers confused me totally, so just wondering how many are actually needed for conception. Anyone understands this?
We had this same curiosity when we started trying. From what we read, just one reaches the egg but you need a decent count for the odds. We got a basic checkup done which gave us peace of mind.
Technically only one sperm fertilises the egg, but a healthy count overall improves the chances. Its more about sperm health and timing than a magic number. If you are trying for a while, a doctor can check both partners properly.
