I have a step counter on my phone and trying to stay active in 2nd tri. Some days i do barely 3k, some days more. Just wondering whats a good number to aim for without overdoing it na. Pls share what u all do.
I had gestational diabetes, so walking was a must for me to keep sugar in check. My doctor advised a gentle 15-20 minute walk after lunch and dinner, which came to around 4000 steps. Just eat clean and don't push yourself too hard.
My MIL and mummy both told me to do light walking in the house or park, but warned not to run or walk too fast. Doing around 3000 to 4000 steps at a slow pace is more than enough. Listen to your body and rest when tired.
I used my smartwatch to track steps and kept a target of 5000 steps daily. Honestly, on days I felt tired, I easily skipped it. The app recommended a steady, slow pace which is very safe.
Honestly, when I had severe morning sickness, I couldn't even walk to the kitchen. Don't stress about step counts if you are feeling weak or vomiting. Just walk a little bit when you feel slightly better.
I completely understand how stressful these step targets can feel when you are pregnant. Please don't worry about hitting a specific number. Just a small 10 minute stroll near your building is perfectly fine.
