How many times a baby should kick during pregnancy?
Im around 28 weeks and started feeling kicks regularly now. Some days baby is super active, other days quiet and then I start overthinking. How many kicks is considered normal in a day?
My gynac told me to do kick counts in the third trimester, she said aim to feel around 10 movements in about 2 hours when baby is active, usually after a meal. Every baby has its own pattern though, so you learn your baby's normal. If movements suddenly reduce a lot, call the doctor, that's the important rule.
There's no fixed magic number, what matters is your baby's regular pattern. Once you feel movements daily, pick a time baby is usually active and count. Both my kids were busiest in the evening. Any big drop in movement, dont wait, ring your gynac.
I'm just starting to feel little flutters now and i keep wondering if it's enough. Did you all also worry in the beginning when movements werent regular yet? My doc said early on it's normal to not feel a steady pattern.
I used a kick counter app in the last trimester and it really helped me notice my baby's routine. Doc said the count itself matters less than the consistency for that baby. The apps make it easy to spot if a day feels off, then you can check with the doctor.
Dont fix a number in your head, beta. Just notice when your baby usually moves and trust that rhythm. If it ever feels much quieter than usual, get it checked, that's the only real worry sign.
