Im 14 weeks and already had two scans. My MIL keeps saying too many ultrasounds arent good for baccha. How many are actually normal in the whole pregnancy?
Actually, it varies a bit but generally, you'll have a few key ones. First is early confirmation, then NT scan around 11-13 weeks, followed by the anomaly scan around 18-20 weeks. After that, sometimes one more in the third trimester to check growth and position. My apps used to track all these dates!
Typically, 3-4 ultrasounds are done throughout pregnancy. One early, one mid-pregnancy for anomaly check, and then one towards the end. If there are any concerns, doc will ask for more. Follow your gynac's advice.
The number of ultrasounds really depends on your doctor's assessment and how your pregnancy progresses. For me, because everything was normal and I was staying active with doctor-approved yoga, I only had the standard 3-4 scans. Just follow what your gynac says.
For my pregnancy, I had about 3-4 ultrasounds in total, and everything went smoothly towards a normal delivery. Each scan is just to ensure baby is growing perfectly and you're healthy. It's a lovely chance to see your little one!
Usually, doctors recommend a few ultrasounds to make sure everything is going well with the baby. Don't worry, they only do what's necessary to keep you and your little one safe and healthy.
