My gynac has done 2 scans till now and im at 20 weeks. Just curious how many in total are normal through the whole pregnancy? Dont want too many but also dont want to miss anything important.
I had about 4 regular scans throughout my pregnancy. Between scans, I focused on keeping myself fit with gentle walking and yoga, which my doctor had permitted. It really helped keep my mind off the anxiety of waiting for the next scan.
Generally, you'll have around 3 to 4 scans like the NT scan and anomaly scan, which are so exciting because you get to see your little one! 😊 Just trust your gynac to guide you on when they are needed. ❤️
Please don't compare your number of scans with anyone else on the internet. Because of my pregnancy complications, I had to get an ultrasound almost every month to ensure the baby was safe. Always let your doctor decide how many scans you need, as they know what is safest for your situation.
Usually, there are about 3 to 5 main scans, but it depends on your health conditions. Since I had thyroid issues, I had to visit my doctor regularly and she suggested extra scans to monitor the baby's growth. Just follow your doctor's timeline strictly.
Normally, a standard uncomplicated pregnancy needs about 4-5 ultrasounds, starting from the dating scan to the growth scan. But every pregnancy is different, so don't compare your scan count with others. Your gynac knows exactly when to schedule them for the best monitoring.
