I already had two scans in early pregnancy because dates were not clear, and now another one is planned. Family is saying too many scans are not good, so I am confused. How many did you have?
My gynac said the ones they schedule are all safe and done only when needed, usually a few across the pregnancy. Ultrasound doesnt use radiation like an xray, so the routine ones your doctor advises are fine. They dont do extra without reason.
There isnt one fixed number, it depends on your case. The medically advised scans are considered safe. Just go by what ur gynac suggests and you'll be fine.
Whatever ur doctor schedules is safe, dont worry. In both my pregnancies I had a handful of scans and everything was normal. They only do as many as actually required.
