How many ultrasound scans are done during pregnancy?
My first ultrasound is coming up soon, and I was just wondering about the whole process. How many times do we usually get ultrasound scans throughout the pregnancy?
In my experience, there are usually about 4 to 5 main scans across the three trimesters. You start with dating scan, then NT, then the big anomaly scan around 20 weeks, and growth scans later. Seeing your baby grow on that screen is the most beautiful feeling, so cherish each one.
Beta, modern doctors do about 3 to 5 scans to make sure everything is safe inside, so just follow their schedule. Along with these checkups, make sure you drink warm milk with badam and keep your mind peaceful. Don't stress too much about the hospital visits, eat well and rest.
Most moms here get around 4-5 scans in total, but it completely depends on how your pregnancy is progressing. Your gynac will guide you on when to go, especially the crucial 12-week and 20-week ones. Just keep your scan files organized from day one, it helps a lot!
Normally, it's around 4 or 5 scans unless your doctor advises extra monitoring. I always scheduled mine around my light prenatal walking days. I only continued my gentle yoga and daily walks after my gynac checked the scan reports and gave me the green light!
Typically, a standard low-risk pregnancy has about 4 routine scans—dating, NT scan, anomaly scan, and a final growth scan. If there are any minor issues like low amniotic fluid, they might add a couple of extra growth or Doppler scans. Don't worry, it's totally safe for the baby and standard protocol.
