My test came positive yesterday but im confused how doctors count the weeks. Is it from my last period or from when it actually happened? pls explain in simple words, totally new to all this.
A regular home test just tells you positive or negative, not the weeks. Some digital ones give a rough range. My doctor said the early ultrasound is what actually gives you accurate dating, so that scan is the real answer.
I used an app and put in my last period date and it estimated my weeks for me. But the real confirmation came at my dating scan. The app is handy for a rough idea till then.
The strip wont tell you how many weeks, only the scan does that properly. Weeks are usually counted from the first day of your last period. Once you get the dating scan, your gynac will give you exact weeks.
