How many weeks of pregnancy in 9 months?

Sorry if this sounds silly but the doctor counts in weeks and everyone at home counts in months, im totally confused now. So 9 months means exactly how many weeks? pls help me understand.

I got so confused by the week vs month thing too, did anyone else? My gynac counts in weeks and i count in months, total mismatch. But yeah its roughly 40 weeks.

Pregnancy is counted as about 40 weeks, which works out to around 9 months. Doctors track it in weeks, not months, so dont get confused with the numbers. Full term is 37 to 40 weeks.
