My period is a little late, and I'm wondering when is the earliest I can reliably detect pregnancy. How many weeks after conception or my last period can a pregnancy be typically detected by a test or scan?
Honestly I started testing even 3 days before my missed period because I was so anxious! It showed a very faint line at 4 weeks, but I kept worrying if it was real or an evaporation line. Better to wait till at least 1 week after missed period to be absolutely sure, otherwise it's just endless stress.
Same here, I am also researching this like crazy right now! From what I read, missed period day means you are around 4 weeks pregnant and most kits show it then. Let's hope we get our positive news soon, fingers crossed.
Actually some tests say 4 weeks but please wait a bit and go to your gynac for a blood test. I had early complications in my pregnancy so I always say don't rely only on home kits. Get a proper beta HCG done through your doctor to check progress.
Ideally, at 4 weeks on the day of your missed period. Modern kits are super sensitive nowadays so u don't need to wait for months. Just buy a good digital one and test with first morning urine, simple.
For me, my terrible nausea started even before my missed period at just 3 and a half weeks! I did a test right away and it was positive, but practically speaking, waiting for 5 weeks gives the clearest result. Don't worry, once the sickness kicks in u will know for sure.
U can usually check at home once your period is missed by a week, that is around 5 weeks. Testing early with a kit is fine, but for any severe cramping or spotting u should immediately call your doctor na. Let the doc do a proper blood test to confirm.
