I completely understand how even small food decisions like how much beetroot to eat can make you feel super anxious, I was the same way. Honestly, a few slices or a small cup of salad daily is perfectly fine and safe, so please don't stress over it.
When I was staying at my parents' place, my mother used to grate a small amount of beetroot into my daily salad or mix it with carrots. It's a wonderful, natural way to keep your energy up, just keep it to moderate household portions.
I am in my second trimester now and my mom told me to eat a few slices of beetroot daily for hemoglobin. But I get slightly anxious about the quantity, is half a beetroot daily safe? Has anyone else felt worried about what they are eating?
Actually, my doctor said that half a medium-sized beetroot per day is more than enough to get its benefits without overloading on nitrates or sugar. It's excellent for folic acid and iron, but moderation is always key in pregnancy.
Beetroot is great for iron, but please eat it in moderate amounts, like half a beet a day, and wash it thoroughly to avoid any soil bacteria. Having experienced a loss before, I am always extra careful about food hygiene, so definitely consult your doctor if you're unsure.
Beetroot is generally healthy, but because I had pregnancy complications, I always recommend checking with your doctor first, especially if you have gestational diabetes as beets are high in sugar. A small quantity in salad is usually fine, but ask your gynac to be sure.
