My doc started me on calcium tablets around 16 weeks but i forgot to ask how much i actually need daily including from food. trying to figure out if my dabba diet is even close. anyone know roughly?
Doctor will start your calcium tablet usually after the first trimester, so dont worry about exact numbers. Just keep up your milk, curd and paneer daily along with it. Both my pregnancies I took the prescribed one and ate dairy regularly.
My amma made sure I had a glass of milk and ragi malt every day for calcium. The tablet I took was whatever my doctor wrote. Food plus the prescribed tablet worked nicely for me, na.
My gynac said around 1000mg a day is the usual recommendation in pregnancy. She wanted me to get most of it from milk, curd, paneer and ragi and the rest from the tablet she prescribed. Dont fix your own dose though, let the doctor decide based on your reports.
