Im in my 5th month and already feeling so much pressure and stretching down there, cant imagine how much more it grows. Just fascinated honestly how the body manages all this. how big does it actually get by the end?
My doctor said the uterus expands enormously, from about the size of a small pear to several hundred times its original capacity by the end of pregnancy. They measure the fundal height at visits to track this growth. Its one of the ways they check baby is growing well.
Girl it goes from like a small pear to the size of a watermelon by the end, our bodies are wild honestly. I kept staring at my bump like how is all this fitting inside. Nature just figures it out, dont worry your body knows what to do.
Looking back its incredible how much it grew, from tiny to housing my whole baby. And then it shrinks back down after delivery slowly. At the time the stretching felt huge but the body does its thing. Such a miracle when you think about it.
A lot, it starts roughly the size of a fist and stretches to hold a full grown baby plus fluid by term. Its pretty amazing actually. Thats also why the back pain and that stretched feeling happen later, totally normal part of it all.
