We are planning to start trying from next month and i know folic acid is important before itself. But im confused about how much i actually need to take daily. Want to ask my gynac the right amount, just curious what others were told.
My doctor put me on folic acid about 3 months before we started trying, the standard 400mcg type. She said start early so levels are good by the time you conceive. But your exact dose can differ so check with ur gynac.
I just started mine last month while planning. From what my doctor said the usual is 400mcg daily, started before conceiving. So glad I asked instead of waiting till I was pregnant.
With my history my doctor actually prescribed a higher dose, so it really isnt one size fits all. Dont just pick a tablet off the shelf yaar, get the right amount confirmed for your case.
Start folic acid before you even conceive, that's the main thing. Standard dose worked for both my pregnancies but get yours confirmed by the doctor. Dont skip days, consistency matters more than worrying about the number.
We just started trying and I was shy to ask but my gynac was so kind, she told me to begin folic acid right away. Made me feel like I'm doing something right already.
