I don't like plain milk much and everyone keeps forcing me to drink two glasses. I can manage curd or paneer but milk makes me feel nauseous. How much milk did you actually drink?
My mother always said one or two cups a day is enough, no need to drink it like water. We took it with a little haldi at night. If milk doesnt suit you, dahi and other dairy give the same calcium. Your doctor can tell you the right amount for your needs too.
Couple of glasses is usually plenty for the calcium and protein. One thing, if you have any sugar issues like I did, watch the flavoured or sweetened milk, go plain. I had to balance it carefully. Best to confirm your quantity with your doctor based on your reports.
There's no fixed number really, around 2 glasses a day worked for me for the calcium. If you dont like plain milk, curd, paneer and buttermilk also count. Dont force litres of it. Balanced overall diet matters more than just loading milk.
Beta a glass in morning and one at night is good, we always added a pinch of haldi. But if your stomach doesnt take milk well, dont force it, take dahi or chaas instead. Every body is different. Ask your doctor how much suits you.
You dont need fancy or expensive milk, regular toned milk gives the same calcium. Two glasses a day is fine, and you can mix it up with dahi which is cheaper and easy to make at home. No need to spend on special pregnancy milk powders, plain dairy does the job.
