Currently in my second trimester and just trying to understand how much weight gain is normal overall. I was a bit on the heavier side before pregnancy too. How did you all track this?
I had to watch this closely because of my sugar. My doctor gave me a personalised range rather than a fixed number. Dont go by what others gained, get your own target from your gynac, it really differs.
My tracker app calculated a healthy range based on my pre pregnancy weight, which was handy. But it is just a guide. The actual healthy gain is best confirmed by your doctor who knows your full picture.
There isnt one figure for everyone, it depends on your starting BMI. Someone slim gains more, someone heavier gains less. Best to let your doctor set the target, they track it at every visit anyway.
Dont fixate on the scale too much. Steady gradual gain is what matters more than hitting an exact number. As long as your doctor says baby and you are healthy, you are doing just fine.
It really depends on what you weighed before. Generally a healthy gain over the whole pregnancy is somewhere around 10-12 kg for most, but it varies. Your gynac will give you a number that fits your body.
