How much sperm motility is required for pregnancy?
We are trying since almost a year and my husband finally got his report done. The motility number looked a bit low to us and now we are worried. Anyone who conceived with similar reports?
Our doctor said total motility around 40% and progressive motility about 30% is considered normal, but count and morphology matter too. One slightly low value doesnt mean it's impossible. Best to get the report reviewed by an andrologist or fertility doc.
We went through fertility treatment so I learnt a bit, doctors generally look at around 40% motility as a normal range but they see the whole report together, not one number. Please dont judge just by motility alone. A fertility specialist can read it properly and guide you, dont lose hope.
We are also trying and got this report done recently. The doctor told us not to panic over the percentage and that lifestyle changes can improve it. Maybe consult once together, it helped us understand better.
There's a normal reference range but honestly the doctor reads it as a full picture, not just motility. If it's a bit low there are ways to improve it. Get a proper consult instead of worrying over the number alone.
I'd really suggest seeing a specialist for this rather than going by one figure. These reports need expert reading. And small things like diet, no smoking, less stress can help over a few months.
