How much water to drink in a day during pregnancy?
I honestly keep forgetting to drink water the whole day and then feel guilty. Im 5 months along now. How many glasses should i actually be having, pls tell me a realistic number.
I just delivered last month, and honestly, water was my best friend. I targeted around 3 liters daily because my doctor said it keeps the fluid levels perfect. It also helped me so much with post-delivery swelling!
I was always careful with my water intake even before pregnancy because of PCOS. Around 2.5 to 3 liters is generally recommended to avoid UTI and constipation. Don't force yourself too much, just keep a bottle with you and sip throughout the day.
You should aim for about 10-12 glasses daily. If plain water feels boring or makes you nauseous, add a squeeze of lemon or make simple buttermilk. No need to buy expensive detox water or anything!
I used to constantly measure my water intake in milliliters and panic if I drank even a glass less! Try to drink about 2.5 to 3 liters. If you feel dizzy or your urine is dark, drink more and please call your doctor if you feel very dehydrated.
My MIL literally follows me around with a copper jug of water! She says drinking at least 8 to 10 glasses is a must for the baby's amniotic fluid. It is definitely hard to drink so much but it really keeps acidity away.
