Im halfway through and have already gained a fair bit, my MIL keeps commenting that im putting on too much. Now im a bit conscious about it. How much weight gain is actually normal over the whole pregnancy?
There's a general range but honestly it depends on your BMI before pregnancy, whether it's twins, etc. So a number off the internet isnt that useful. Let your gynac tell you what's right for you.
I used to weigh myself constantly and stress, big mistake. As long as your doctor says the gain is healthy, dont count every kilo. Some weeks more, some less, it's all normal.
Because of my sugar issue my doctor kept a closer eye on my weight gain. For me steady gain was the goal, not too fast. Best to ask your own doctor your target since it depends on your starting weight and health.
My gynac said roughly 10-12 kg is the usual range for a normal pre pregnancy weight, but it really depends on where you start from. She tracked it at every visit. So there's no single number for everyone, your doctor will tell you your healthy range.
I gained around 11 kg in one pregnancy and 14 in the other, both were fine. Dont obsess over the scale, just eat properly and let your doctor monitor it. The number varies a lot person to person.
